Sifu: The Squats walkthrough

On a first visit, work through the apartments and hangar to reach Fajar. Keep the keys you earn in mind for a shorter route on your next attempt.

Route at a glance: leave the opening alley for the apartment building and hallway fights. Clear the first Juggernaut, defeat the pair who drop the Bunch of Keys, and pass through the hangar. After another Juggernaut encounter, continue toward the room with Keycard 206 and take the ramp to Fajar.

Follow the first-visit route

Start in the alley and advance into the apartment building. The hallway encounters lead to a Juggernaut fight. Past that point, take on the two enemies in the side room: defeating them gives you the Bunch of Keys needed for the next gate. Continue through the hangar rather than treating the early Avenue Door as the route you must take now.

The hangar is followed by another Juggernaut encounter. Once it is clear, follow the route onward through the alley and stairs. The room ahead contains Keycard 206; from there, the ramp leads into the Fajar fight. Use the stretch before the ramp to decide whether you are ready to enter the boss encounter.

Use the Bunch of Keys on this run and the next

The two enemies in the side room drop the Bunch of Keys. They open the nearby Metal Gate and the Avenue Door that you passed near the beginning of The Squats. The Metal Gate lets you continue the current route. On a replay after earning the keys, the Avenue Door gives you a shorter way forward from near the start.

Replay decision: if you are exploring The Squats for the first time, follow the main route and obtain the keys. When you return, choose the Avenue Door if your goal is to shorten the approach.

Separate first-visit finds from a later return

Several Detective Board entries come from this route, including the Avenue Door, Bunch of Keys, Metal Gate, Purple Flower and Keycard 206. Keycard 206 is found in the room before Fajar; it opens a door in The Sanctuary. Finding it here does not mean you can finish every Squats board entry on this first visit.

The Private Room Door in The Squats needs an item obtained through that later Sanctuary connection. Return to The Squats after obtaining it to open the room and collect the Hongbao Flyer. If that door stays closed during your first pass, continue toward Fajar instead of searching this chapter for an immediate way in.

Reach the Fajar fight

After the hangar and the following Juggernaut, keep going through the alley and up the stairs. Collect Keycard 206 in the next room. The ramp beyond it is the approach to Fajar the Botanist, the chapter's boss. This is the end of the route described here; the Avenue Door shortcut is for a later attempt after you have obtained the keys.
